Guest guest
Hi , Are you seeing Dr. Silverburg in Austin ? what insurance do you have ? If you have Unicare, my RE here bills for that. I saw a RE here in San who told me hysterectomy would be his first choice but that he would gladly give me a myo. ...and that his wife , age 40, would want a myo. too if she had to have one. He was aware of the possibility that a hysterectomy could affect sexual functioning / orgasm, etc....and he gave that as a reason for having a myo. He does alot of myo's, and if you have Unicare, he can help you.....i don't know what other companies he bills with, but his name is Dr. Craig Witz..... I am 48. He never told me there would be adhesions, and he didn't tell me my uterus would be MUSH...... WHY did that doc. tell you that ? I've never heard this ... Must be scare tactics to scare older women into hysterectomies. makes me furious.
Guest guest
Hi , I have not seen Dr. Silverberg in Austin yet. I have an appt with Dr. Silverberg on Feb 2nd in Austin. An RE in Houston (who is on my insurance plan) told me that he recommended a hysterectomy, but would do a myo if I really wanted one, but he did try to discourage me from it. And, he did tell me my uterus would be like " mush " from a myo, and I could have a problem with adhesions. That is the same thing my gyno told me about my uterus, too. Last week, I ordered a full copy of all my records from her care so I could see for myself what was on them. I should get them this week. My insurance is through TML which Dr. Silverberg/ TX Fertililty Center, does NOT take, but I'm going to see him anyway. My insurance will pay a 55/45 split (ouch!) after the $500 deductible is met for going to someone outside the plan. I'm a single parent, and have been for a very long time. I decided, though, that my health was worth it. Could the insurance company be encouraging the doctors to lean toward hysterectomies?? I don't know, but I've been wondering. I want to hear what Dr. Silverberg says about my condition. The Tx Fertililty Center has a great office staff, and they've been so informative and helpful when I started talking to them in November/December by phone/emails, and they continued to help me even when it was clear (in 2003) that I was not going to be a patient of theirs. I cannot say enough good things about them -- they were all so helpful and considerate of my feelings/fears. Even Dr. Silverberg himself sent me some emails, even though we never talked by phone. to - why did the RE tell you that your uterus would be MUSH ? > Hi , > Are you seeing Dr. Silverburg in Austin ? what insurance do you have ?
