Oh Jodi!

I'm so sorry that things aren't going well! I promise to keep you in my

prayers! Have you tried hot packs? When my whole face blew up (needed a root

canal done on a front tooth) The hot packs helped so much more than the cold

ones. The soreness seemed really sensitive to the cold.

Get your rest , and hopefully things will get better VERY soon!

Pat,

Hot packs don't work, but swishing my mouth with warm salt water

does for a little bit. Today is no better than yesterday and I've

been on antibiotics for three days now. Tomorrow the endo. will get

a phonecall from me. I can't go on like this!

Oh Jodi!

I wish I could came over and give you a hug! You sure sound like you

need one! Maybe a little TLC too!

A friend of mine just had some oral surgery of her own, and she

suggested that you might want to try something like Chloroseptic. It's for

sore throats, but she has a ton of stitches and said it worked wonders for

her!

Hi Pat:-)

What I did for Janelle when we ran into having a whole new team of doctors

for her cleft palate repair was have a sheet that had her:

birth info: weight, length, weeks of gestation, how long in the NICU and

complications at birth.

Dates of all surgeries and hospitalizations what they were for and where

they were.

I list all current medications and why are they being taken

I list all of her doctors, what type of doctor they are and their phone

numbers (as direct as I can get)

I will mention a test that has been done and the results if it keeps coming

up. For instance every one always asks if Janelle has heart problems

because her heart always looks enlarged in a chest x-ray. She has has

echocardiograms and has passed them so I put that tid bit in.

I also put in that she is asymmetrical stating which side is smaller which

comes in handy when IV's infiltrate.

I make the type a little bigger so they do not have to strain to read it

since these doctors are often tired. It made meeting many doctors a painless

and quick meeting.

It is nice to have the growth chart there too. I don't because I ran into

every doctor using a different kind of chart.

PAT I need to know how slow is slow when extubating the RSS kids form the

ventilator. I need to make sure we are going to do it slow enough for

Janelle.

Hi everyone,

Another thing that I have decided to do is a complete case history for

. Every time we see a new Dr, we spend a minimum of an hour, giving

past stats and info. Has anyone else done this? What info is pertinent? How

detailed should it be? should I put in all past meds? test run and results?

weight and growth records?

With all of B's hospital stays, (7 this last year) this history is

becoming pages long! No Dr is going to take the time to read all of this,

and we'll just end up answering all the questions anyway.

Again, any info or suggestions would be welcome! Thanks in advance!
