, I couldn't figure out why until I got home and looked at my prescription bottle and it had 240 tablets I am taking 9 a day well 9 times 30 is 270 not 240. Then I looked at the new one and they are bumping me up to 10 a day, for 30 days and again there is 240 tablets, I think they forget to change the number of pills and that is what the pharmacists have to go by

Lin,very smart of you to count the pills. Pharmacies make mistakes!!!!!!!

I take Dilauded for breakthrough pain and for one month I get 270 4mg tablets. Recently I got the script and it didn't look right. I counted them and there were only 180 tablets!!!!! Maybe it was an oversight of the pharmacy or maybe they were trying to scam me, don't know. Anyway, I thought they were going to give me a hard time when I went back but they didn't. I think one reason was that the bottle that the pills were in could never had held 270 pills so I guess they realized it was their mistake. Be very wary!!!!! Take care, Love Jai

Jai,

Don't worry I always check out the number of pills in the bottles. My pharmacist has been my pharmacist for about 28 years. So I really trust them but even they can make mistakes, but this time it was my doctor's nurse that wrote the correctly but didn't change the numbers of pills for this prescription and the pharmacist has to go by the amount of pills which was 240. So yesterday my son-in-law took me to get the new and correct one, but I also had to return the old one in, I got to thinking of course they would ask for them, because I could keep that and get it filled at a different pharmicist. I would never do that but I can understand why they are very cautious about it, maybe someone did do that and got caught.
