Guest guest
Yes, even for normal IV when I go into emergency- not too long after they get it in, which now they resort mostly to my hands and geesh all my veins show- so fair skinned- but they always have to put it on the bump of my thumbs ughh they hurt there worse than most spots (to me anyhow) The rubber band they tie around arm whewwwwwww , I have to get in some of these guys faces- they just tie it too darn tight and it feels like my arms gonna burst- funny how some say- " we have to do it like this " when there are so many others that do not tie it that darn tight........... I actually told one of them, to take it off and if you do not take it off- I will take it off myself....... and I sat up and said " now' and I mean it........ he ran tattling to the doctor - stating that I gave him a rough time.......... what a whimp lol- scuse me but geesh........ I told the doctor- no, I asked him to loosen it , and then the rest of the story- dr said to me - well, we still need to do this....... I said that is fine, if you find someone to do it that has a bed side manner.......another man came in- put the band on.... still uncomfy but not near as tight as that flake did....... and poof he got the vein first try....... course it didnt last though- , they end up having to re-insert every 15 minutes or so anymore...... with or without dye..... And the bruising, happens before they do the needle insertion or the band........ just their hands touching me bruises me. Still glad I said no though to the picline........ as they did intend to do this with a local anesthetic and those simply don't work for me...... So- they aren't going to do it lol........... I don't pull any punches if they are hurting me or doing somethin I don't want done- I definitely- spill how I feel. Nice to hear from you again Patti........ Hugs- TJ Hey TJ -- Sounds like me,. too. When they put the IV in for my CT scans, the vein always blows when the dye is injected - sometimes it will last long enough to get enough dye in - but otherwise it's bruise time!!!!!
