First I want to say , I think you are great , no matter your own worries you

still manage to think of others .

I would be concerned about them moving Glenn also , perhaps they will make a

note and check his BP sooner than every four hours? Maybe you could even ask

them to do this if they arent planning on it.

Are they not going to drain his tummy?

Do they have a vcr in his room? If so maybe you could tape the races( if its

not to late) and let him watch it on the vcr

Thanks Debbie....I do think of everyone here...have to check in every day to

see what's going on and how everyone is handling that particular day!! You

guys are my friends!!!

Guess what... they are letting Glenn come home today...from ICU to home!!!

Does this make any sense at all?? BP is 89/53 and that is still low!!! He

has an appt. already scheduled for Tues. for the tummy-draining and they told

him to keep that appt. I just don't know what to make of all this...this

may be our new way of life.

GI Dr. wants Glenn to get a PET Scan to see if they the " clot " going in to

the liver (which is causing ALLLLL of this crap) is a blood clot or if it

shows up malignant. At least, we'll know what we are dealing with. To have to

give him shots each night in the tummy hoping to dissolve a clot that may not

be a " blood " clot is just ludicrous to me. My gosh, the man suffers enough

w/o having to get a shot that may or may not be doing any good!!! The

surgery to remove any malignancy is a very, very huge procedure and GI Dr. told

me

he didn't think Glenn's body could handle it. But, we NEED to KNOW what the

heck is going on and what our options are!!!

Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

As far as Joe goes.

He is doing pretty good now , he had his 10 treatment this pass Monday , they

have him on new med called Emends that makes him not vomit , just gags .

But it makes him SLEEP , on tuesday no lie he slept 20 hours!!!!

Plus he slept Monday , and Wednsday , then wondered why he couldnt sleep Wed.

night lol

His platelets were low this time down to 75,000 nurse had to call to see if he

could even have treatment ( thank goodness they allowed him to )

His tingles are getting worse , he cant feel things with his fingers ( he just

told me that today) and his feet burn when it gets slightly cold, he cant drink

cold stuff yet , but worse is he cant eat ANYTHING even slightly spicey as it

hurts his mouth , that makes him more upset than anything , he LIKES spicey

foods.

On his off weeks he eats EVERYTHING in site, he has managed to retain his weight

( even added a few pounds ) since the start of chemo.

2 more treatments and he will be DONE

I dont remember if I told you , but I had talked to our regular doc , and

demanded that Dani ( our 13yrold daughter ) see a neurologist for her

malformation ( Chiari 1 malformation with a syrinx)

Well , we were told it would be 2 -3 weeks before we got an appt

I called this past week and the office said that the Neurologist had called them

and after looking over her medical report wants her to see a Neurosurgeon !!!

The Neurosurgeon wants a full MRI done of her spine to see how far the syrinx

goes down ( on her other MRI it said it went from c2 - to at least t5 )

She will most likely have to have surgery :(

But will try not to worry about that til the time comes

Well Joe is asking me if I am in the shower ( lol) so I best run and get there

we have nieces birthday party to go to

Keeping you , Glenn and mom in my thoughts and prayers

Thinking of you all always

Deb

Thanks, Deb...just got back from hospital and he is still in ICU, but they

are going to move him out when a bed becomes available on the same floor as

ICU. They don't want him too far away...His pressure is up

somewhat...90-92/55-60. But it still drops every once in a while...I'm not

sure why they are

moving him yet, b/c on the other floors, they only check b/p every 4 hrs. In

ICU, he's on a machine that notifies the nurses immediately when it drops.

Scares me!!

Anyway, he feels fine, except for tummy is chuck full of fluid again... but

he is oh so annoyed (I had another word in there...LOL) that he doesn't have

the TV channel the NASCAR race is on!!!! I think one of his buddies is going

over to sit with him a while, so that will be good. I am so exhausted, I

slept in a recliner MOST of the time I was suppose to be visiting him...think

it finally caught up with me...all the running. The reclining position was

just too comfy... Still feel tired, so will go to bed early. Thanks for being

here. How's Joe doing?? And you?? I'm about 260 emails behind, so maybe

you've already answered those questions. Sorry.

Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

Donelle has a mountain or courage and I salute her for it. She keeps me

going as well with her fortitude.

She keeps Glen going as best she can and continues to fight for him.

So glad he is coming home. That running back and forth to hospital and

pretty much living there is for the birds.

Hope he will be okay, continue to pray for him and you as well. Take care

God Bless and big hugs Jolene
