I was already scheduled for THR and having a pretty significant " melt down " about the whole thing. When I found this group, resurfacing came out of the shadows and became real to me. Yeah, I could do that. And I am by Heaven going to do it! Though I am a maverick in many ways, I have not typically made such a major decision against local medical advice. Am I ever glad I did! I've had my 6 weeks follow-up and have had my X-rays, etc, pronounced as looking " Wonderful! " At 6 weeks I have all but discarded the cane. Not entirely since I don't want to get habituated to a limp, which happens when these muscles are tired or sore. You should see me go up and down stairs! Once I'd talked with Dr Gross and his staff, my fears were all but gone. Besides, I was so daggoned tired when I had to get to the hospital at some forsaken hour that I didn't have the energy to feel nervous. If I got to lie down for a while, and sleep, well -- might as well have at my hip! My progress has been constant and steady. And I'm thrilled.
