Hi ,

I haven't been on program long enough to get to that point yet, but I did want

to say that I admire your courage for staying on program when getting so close

to quitting. I think you did just fine. Once you get over that hump of wanting

to throw it all in, it's alot easier to kick back in and get over it. This is

true with most everything we do in our lives. Maybe you just need to take some

time to appreciate what you have done for yourself since you have been on

program. Look at how much weight you have lost. You can keep up the great

work. You can do it...for you!!!

An " Ack " Moment

Hi, all:

Things here have been busier than usual in my life, and we've been

traveling for the past two weekends (Pittsburgh over Labor Day,

Lexington this past weekend). I'm kind of a homebody in the sense

that I NEED downtime at home in order to recharge.

Well, on Friday, I just wanted to chuck it all. I got so sick of not

being able to eat whatever I wanted (and in LARGE quantities). I have

been religiously on program since February 1, and I don't feel I'm

the type of person who can go off program one day and hop back on the

next without any problems. I treat WW like a 12-step program--one day

at a time and I must absolutely adhere to it for that day.

I didn't give in to my frustrations, but I came way too close to the

line for my comfort. I made the smart decision for dinner at the

Italian restaurant we chose--linguine with red clam sauce, and I

scooped out at least a cup of the linguine so I wouldn't eat the

entire portion they gave me. Then I went to back to the hotel and

woke up the next morning feeling better able to tackle my day.

I stayed on program the whole weekend, and we have no plans to travel

until Thanksgiving. I feel motivated and fine right now, but I'm

still scared about my near fall off program. Can anyone give me

advice on how they recharge when they feel themselves losing their

grip on the program?

Thanks,

That is just incredible! Thank you so much for sharing because I think at

one point or another, sometimes at MANY points, we all come up against this

kind of thing. The rebellious two-year-old inside of us says " I want it all!

I want it now! " and it's so easy to give in because it's usually at a time

when we're tired, stressed, and very very vulnerable to chucking it all.

You did an excellent job. Just excellent. I love the 12 step program thing.

I kind of look at Wwers like that myself. I know that regardless of my

current weight, I will ALWAYS have an obesity issue. Like a " dry drunk " I am

prone to obesity and I must, every single day, make a concious and specific

effort to stay on program, watch what I eat, exercise. I don't believe it

will EVER " come naturally " to me. Now I know some people might read that and

think, " What? Okay then there is just no way. I can't do this forever. "

It may never come naturally, but it does get easier and a lot of it becomes

second nature. However, I also know that there are too many " I lost over 100

pounds and kept it off for three years, but then...and now I've rejoined and

have 150 to lose " stories out there to ever become complacent. If it can

happen to them, it can happen to me.

So Yay You! Thanks SO much for sharing not only your triumph, but your

moments of vulnerability.
