Guest guest
I got info about the morphine drops from the hospice nurse (they really push them) I was told they relax the smooth heart muscle making it easier to breath. Forget those drops I refuse to take them they make me crazy. I have been told by loved ones that I wake up crazy trying to pull O2 off saying I do not have any making accusations went down to 57 saturation with O2. What is happening to me? Sodium still low at 133 and chloride low however noone seems concerned. I cannot stand this. Amy
Guest guest
Hi Amy Pray you are doing well. Just info on the morphine; It really does work great on the lung muscle and the hospice (me including lol)nurses don't push it but it is really effective on the muscle. if you take a helium balloon when you first buy it and it is so taunt that would be yur lung; when you push with your fingers not able to make any impression in the balloon.. the morphine when given and generally in 10 to 20 mins is working; you then push your fingers in the balloon you are able to make your fingers go in. with this the lung is able to take in some air.. Ask them about using the morphine in the nebulizer it doesn't appear to affect you mentally as the oral.. generally use 5- 10mg with saline in the nebulizer and they will tell you how often you can use it.. Generally start with 5mg.. Are you getting your meds from hospice pharmacia.. what hospice are you using.. And as Beth said, hospice does not mean your dying it is about quality of life and improving it. Making you more comfortable to do all the things you want to do.. i have had people on for 2 years and even had to discharge people.. they are excellent with pain and symptom management. and hospice pharmacia are experts and great consultation for the staff.. My prayers are with you. Also, try using a fan on your face at times to help you breathe. patti, ipf 7'06 > > I got info about the morphine drops from the hospice nurse (they really push them) I was told they relax the smooth heart muscle making it easier to breath.
