Hi, -

The active ingredient (levothyroxine) is the same, but because all brands use

slightly different fillers, they may be assimilated differently. For that

reason, it's important not to switch around from

brand to brand. It's fine to change brands, and use Unithroid (or Levoxyl, or

any other brand), but be sure that your pharmacy's generic brand remains the

same.

It would probably be wise to have your TSH test in 6 weeks or so, to be sure

that it hasn't changed.
