Guest guest
Uh, , Rense.com is not exactly an authoritative source, ranking somewhat below The National Inquirer and other similar bastions of journalistic integrity. For an example, here's another typical article from Rense.com: http://www.metatech.org/Tiny%20Humanoid%20Creature%20Found%20In% 20Chile.htm Mike > > Here is a sobering link about the effectiveness of drugs . Guest guest
Sorry, the link to Rense.com isn't working too well unless you cut and paste: http://www.metatech.org/Tiny%20Humanoid%20Creature%20Found%20In% 20Chile.htm But if you do a Google search on " Rense " and click on this search result: Tiny Humanoid Creature Found In Chile you'll get the general idea of why Rense.com is not too highly regarded. Thus, their " interview " with a drug company executive has zero credibility, IMHO. Mike > > Here is a sobering link about the effectiveness of drugs . Guest guest
this really isn't that surprising or alarming.. Anti-arrythmics are only touted as being 50% affective against us afibbers.. that means in 50% of us they don't work. And for anyone with arthritis... you know that you sometimes have to go through a bunch of different anti-inflamatories before you find one that works. Cardizem didn't do anything to keep me out of afib, but Tikosyn does.... Tylenol doesn't get rid of my headaches, but aspirin does. I took Viox for some arthritis pain and it didn't do squat, but my husbands grandfather thought it was a miracle drug for his own arthritis pain. my mother is willing to risk the heart attack in order to keep taking celebrex, since viox didn't work for her either... ... and on and on... it's a bummer when the drug you really NEED to work doesn't, though... or when it's the only drug for a particular ailment, but that fact that so many don't work really isn't surprising. Guest guest
Happy to report that after 1.5 years on Tikosyn and dozens of breakthrough episodes, I am now afib free for three weeks on Tambocor. Maybe I found the drug that works for me, at least for awhile. Getting closer to trusting it, anyway. Happy New Year!
