RSD-CRPSofAmerica writes:The reason I write the group is to get some practical information that my medical providers can't seem to provide: my RSD started in my ankle/foot and moved rapidly into my leg. I am having a horrible time finding socks and shoes that feel relatively ok on my feet. Any suggestions? Looking forward to the new family here!Theresa in NY

Hi Theresa, I am not sure if I have talked to you before, but I will say welcome to the family. I have trouble with my feet swelling they are a little sensitive. I wear shoes that don't have any backs and they are a little loose fitting because when I am up on my feet too much, or am sitting with my feet down, they swell so I can't wear my regular shoes, these are kind of like clogs but they aren't high and a lot softer. For socks I try to find a nice soft socks that don't have too strong of a support band, I found some that worked for me, they are at Walmart they are called faded glory everyday fashion, the ones I bought were 3 for 4.88, but they do sell them in singles, so you could try one and if it doesn't work your not out that much.

Take care and again welcome,

Lin

Theresa, I found some socks at Wal Mart that say on them they are for Diabetics and will not be tight on foot or ankle. They are really nice and cannot recall cost but was low amount. This might help you, hope so.

Re: Theresa

Theresa,

It's been awhile since I wore shoes. But when i could I used the birkenstocks with velco or the adjustable straps. Now i just find slippers that have a soft bottom but come up high on the ankle keeps the breeze off the feet. Also i also recommed the socks from wal-mart. They don't have all the heavy elastic in them. My feet swell so I need the extra room. I know it's frustrating finding the right foot wear. Keep experimenting there is something out there.
