It is important that the Boston Globe's editors and reporters learn that

thimerosal remains in many vaccines, and that in those vaccines, the

level of ethylmercury is far more than a " trace amount " .

Citations 2 & 3 in my letter to the Globe delineate which vaccines still

contain ethylmercury. If a number of people write their own brief

letter to the Globe editors, perhaps pasting in the cites 2 & 3, perhaps

the Globe will run an article correcting the misinformation in

's otherwise excellent article.

Here is my letter to the Globe:

To editors of Boston Globe:

's article about vaccinal ethylmercury is appreciated (1).

However, the article contains a serious error. wrote that

" The preservative, called thimerosal, is used only in trace amounts or

not at all in today's US vaccines... " (1). That statement is erroneous.

For instance, most flu shots this winter contained thimerosal; many

other vaccines still contain thimerosal, and the amount of ethylmercury

is far more than " trace " (2-3). Parents, nurses, and physicians should

not be misled into a false sense of security by a major newspaper's

misinformation about thimerosal's having been removed -- which indeed

has not occurred. Thimerosal remains in many vaccines!

The Globe should publish an article regarding which shots still contain

thimerosal.

Article on Vaccine-Autism Link

Dear Mr. ,

I am writing to thank you for your article on February 8th regarding the link

between vaccines and autism. It's heartening to see a major media outlet

willing to address this very controversial issue.

We (parents, grandparents, doctors, scientists, teachers, advocates and

researchers) are working diligently to prevent further injury to our children by

vaccines. I encourage you to continue your research on this topic. You will

find the facts to be quite disturbing.

Your statement that thimerosal is used only in trace amounts or not at all in

today's vaccines is unfortunately incorrect. I will post links below where you

can get updated information on the mercury content in current vaccines. I do

hope that you will make this correction in the Globe so that parents are aware

of the fact that mercury poisoning from vaccines is still a very real risk.

The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Times have jumped into the ring with

Bill Frist and the pharmaceutical companies on this issue. I encourage the

Boston Globe to jump into the ring with the children of America and help us to

expose the truth!
