Guest guest
HI LAURA- How exciting for you to be getting close to surgery date!!! Just keep up the good work. Remember this will be the last " diet " you'll ever have to face. However, its not the end of dealing with food. You'll just deal differently. To me, the most " shocking " thing I dealt with was the " volume " , or rather the LACK of volume you;ll consume. LITERALLY two bites and the meal is done. that and the 14 days of liquids after surgery was like " HEY>>>when will i " chew " again. sugar-free ice pops were a GODSEND at least i could 'CHEW " THEM. its strange what goes thur your head.Im 6 months post-op and would have the surgery TODAY again. I wish i had done it years ago. i had to lose 30 lbs. post op. (part of the requirement for the surgery) I hated every bit of it and I wont tell you what i did to get the weight off. too gruesome ugh Since surgery 75lbs. so im happy. I dont feel like i go thru the cycles of emotion i use to with food. Im still working on getting healthy- exercise, more water, etc.... Hope this helps you and good luck and take care. Guest guest
IF I were to post the " tactics' i used, I would probably be " kicked " out of the site. I tried to stick to the protein-sparing diet which limits not only your carbs & sugars but also your protein. I drank ALOT of water,bouillon,air-popped popcorn. BASICALLY I starved. NOT a good idea, but I'm sure we've all done those " diets " wish I had an easy way, but, then I would be one RICH woman sitting here right? ps EXERCISE DO ANYTHING KIM : ) ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! Guest guest
do you have an angel or want one ? march procedure > Hi, > I am scheduled for this procedure March 19, the laparoscopic roux en y. barring any last minute delays or complications. The advice and insight is great from this group, with such vast experience. > I am in the weight loss phase pre op, and this scares me, always able to loose a little, never able to keep it off. Hoping that I can meet that requirement and keep it long enough to make all the appointments. I have basically given up carbs now, or the majority of them, still have a tsp of sugar in my am coffee. Portion size continues to be a problem. > I am 39, 5'6 " 264#. > I find the most interesting posts to me involve adjusting to the changes post op, and some of the emotional swings too. I was also happy to see the pain comparison to a c section, had 4 myself. > > >
