I would like to add my Birthday wishes to this Support Group. If it had not

been for this forum I expect that I would have still been waiting for

surgery for another year. Instead I am one month post op and feeling

wonderful with no pain. It has made me realize how great the internet can

be if used properly. This Support Group is certainly a testament to that.

Arranging my surgery with Dr. DeSmet on the internet was such a help. I

don't think I could have done it without the advice and help that I received

on this forum. Thank-you All... and Happy Birthday the " Group " !!

I would like to add my Birthday wishes to this Support Group. If it had not

Agree 100%. Because of the site, my expectations were well defined,

and surprises minimized. Knowing what to expect takes so much of the

anxiety out of the surgery, especially for someone who has not had

major surgery in over 30 years.

But there is another message we need to address. I don't want this

effort to peter out after we are returning to our own lives.

should not have to subsidize a site that has helped hundreds and

hundreds of us surface hippies, our families, and others trying to

gather info to make informed decisions. We're part of a unique

society, without the secret handshake. Let's keep it alive for those

behind us.

I sent him a birthday contribution yesterday via PayPal, which was

easy to link to a credit card. I hope others feel as I do about the

importance of the site.
