Guest guest
Some recent posts here have made the point that head injuries could be deadly for those of us on coumadin. Yes, I know there's a higher risk of stroke for those of us with A-Fib, and I know coumadin has saved lives, but so has aspirin. Even before I was diagnosed with A-Fib I took aspirin in the morning as a preventative measure against a heart attack. Then, when I went into A-Fib my doctor ordered me to stop the aspirin and start coumadin. But isn't this one of those cases where the cure is worse then the illness? It seems to me all it would take is one good bang on the head, caused by falling off a bike, or a car accident, and if I'm on coumadin then I have a very good change of dying. The more I read about coumadin the more I don't like it and the more I'm thinking of switching back to aspirin. Has anyone out there switched back to just aspirin and if so were there any problems?
