Guest guest
Dear , I had three months of weekly iron transfusions for severe anemia. In Israel this is a fairly standard procedure with low iron levels. The process is very straight forward. You receive an IV transfusion of iron which usually takes around 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You have an IV bag in your arm. You can read, eat, talk on a cell phone or just relax while you are receiving the transfusion. Over a long period of time, your arms might rebel from the heavy doses of iron. That is what happened with me.
