Hi Heidrun:I just looked up the two places because I couldn't remember which one we went to, and found that 2 of the clinicians are in both locations. Kay treated my son 8 years ago (in 2000), and I am guessing it was from the Glenview location because I remember it being right off of the highway. I live in Cincinnati, and at the time, Ohio didn't have a Cranial Technologies clinic. DOCband was the only band, at the time, that could help his head shape -- which wasn't plagiocephaly, but was long and narrow (scaphocephaly). In any case, I think you would be fine in either clinic. It is a trek -- and that is something that must be taken into consideration, but in our case it was well worth it (and my son got a little bonding time with my mom, who lives in Toledo, so I would drive to toledo the night before, and we would share the trip to and from the clinic). He was not as old as your grandson

, but was casted at 6 months, so was almost 7 months by the time he got the band, and we only had to make the trip every 2 weeks, so that helped a lot. I'm not sure of the numbers, either, as we didn't have assymetrical shape, so hopefully someone else will chime in about that.hope this helpstracymom to Quinn, born 11/99, DOCgrad 10/00>------- Original Message ------->From : hrbenbrook[mailto:hrbenbrook@...]>Sent : 3/2/2008 3:11:09 PM>To : Plagiocephaly >Cc : >Subject : RE: Oakbrook Terrace Location>>Hi, my name is Heidrun Benbrook, proud grandma of Aiden, age 15 1/2 months. My daughter does not have access to the internet, so I am the spokesperson.Aiden was first fitted with a Starband in late May and it did somewhat improve his headshape. In November h

e received his second band. It did not fit despite numerous adjustments. Finally at his appointment in January he received what looked to be a good fit, but at that point he simply took it off his head (it was very loose fitting, always spinning and pinching off an ear, eye, etc.). So, that was the end of that. His headshape is far from being rounded, actually we think he is flattening out more. At this point we are willing to go for the DOC band. As we understand it is not so easily removed. The nearest location to us is in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, appr. a 5 hour trip, so it will involve an overnight stay each time we are going up there. We want to be careful that that is the place we want to go to. Has anyone in the group had their babies banded at that location, or maybe the Northside of Chicago location? We have to get going fast on this, time is running out.His measurements are as follows and I do not unders
