Guest guest
I know they restrict the time in a single band, because they don't think one band will be effective beyond that time. I'm pretty sure that the max is 16 weeks - but you should ask CT to be sure. The reason they charge you again is that they have to make a new band if you need a 2nd, and it costs them money. However only about 15% of patients need more than one band, so most people are done within the 16 week. Many babies outgrow the band in less time, and need to pay if a 2nd band is required/desired. Although some babies may need to be banded for 6-8 mo, that is definitely the exception. Most babies are finished much sooner. I would say 3-4 mo is average. My dd wore her starband 5 mo, and so many other babies on this board started and ended treatment within that time - I remember because it drove me crazy ;-) -christine sydney 20 mo starband grad > > > > Hi there, > > > > I have twin girls, and one was diagnosed with plagiocephaly and > torticollis and the other one wasn't. > > > > She wore a DOCband for 7.5 months total (two bands)... but she > started at 10 months, so our correction occurred at a slower rate > than a baby who gets banded younger. > > > > HTH, > > Colleen > > > > Re: Time length ??? > > > > > > Just curious to know.
