Well I'm in HYPO HELL myself these days

I'm tired of being FAT and HYPO! I'm with a TSH of 9.60 and feeling

like I can't get out of my own way!

I have to say though I don't miss being on PTU its so nice not to have

PTU TONGUE I'm enjoying my little vacation here off of PTU I wish I

could permanently not have to take that horrible stuff again but I

know I'm suppose to go back on Tuesday but if I feel like this I'm

waiting until Friday because hopefully by them my TSH will be down

around 2.0 and that would be good and I would be balanced!

There is no one to chat with tonight so I'm just whining over here cuz

no one is on the MEDIBOARD

I wonder if I should have my ENDO do a TSI test and see if I should go

on thyroid hormone block and replace therapy what if PTU won't cut the

cheeze by itself?

Hi,

Considering your symptoms, you probably would be safe to stay off the meds

until Friday. And then have your levels tested after 2 weeks of being on 100

mg in case this dose is also too high for you. If so, you could have it

reduced or ask to be put on block and replace. It's good that your

hypothyroidism was caught before it got much worse. Take care, Elaine

This is what I will do!

I'm going to stay off PTU until Friday then I might even call the

doctor tommorow and fill her in on my decision that would be nice of

me.

If my levels test out high again I will ask for block and replace.

I get my blood work done every 4 weeks so they do catch my hypo or

hyper wichever way I happen to be but its so hard being on a roller

coaster all the time.

How long does it take to get stable its already been 8 months of this

PTU thing I know they say 2 years but I want to be stable I do.

I'm feeling a little better off the PTU now since last Friday Morning

and no heart palpitations yet some but not severe and I am not hyper

so thats good.

If I remember correctly you have had a history of not lowering your dose

when the doctor has told you to. This will certainly lengthen the time it

takes to become stable. And becoming more and more hypo IS the expected out

come.

Please do call the doctor tomorrow and the two of you get on the same page,

and now working together, you can put the past behind you, and learn from

it.

The doctor can not help you as long as you do as you please.

to learn about Graves' and also the way you were able to drop so many other
