Guest guest
Thank goodness, this was an isolated incident. My daughter was wearing only a pull up and took it off. I think it was a case of stepping and walking in it as opposed to purposefully smearing it. But she'll be wearing overalls for the rest of her life! With regard to her gut, Aly is in great shape right now, and I've been meaning to share this info. I do give her Klaire probiotics and am using some incredible enzymes that Dr. Bradstreet developed. She had been fully on SCD for 7 months, but was having horrible poop problems for the past few months. It was sandy (with undigested nut flour) and the consistency of pea soup. I could literally pour it from her diapers. I had been using Thropp's enzymes because they are SCD legal. At Dr. Bradstreet's suggestion, I started using Digest Right enzymes 7 weeks ago and she's had normal, formed poops, once a day ever since. I've even been able to add some non-SCD foods back into her diet with no problems, but she is still very restricted. I have to say that 7 months of SCD is one of the best things we've done for Aly. She is in great shape. She's gained weight and grown taller and she looks really healthy. I can highly recommend the Digest Right enzymes. In fact I'm setting up a reselling account with the manufacturer so we will be able to offer them on the National Autism Association website for a lower price than retail. Here's a link if you want to check out the products. http://www.integrativeinc.com/learnersedge/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1 & tabid=\ 177 Warmly,

Guest guest
Deana, The child obviously does not know better. How old is the child? My boy used to do this when his diaper was not changed quickly. The only answer I have in the short term is to keep an eye on the child. Limit where the child goes -- keep him/her in a room with an adult at all times. Make notes as to what time the child poops so an adult can be more alert at that time. The long term answer is to treat biomedically (chelate, MB12 whatever) and as they heal, the storm will pass. I have no idea how to stop the child from wanting to do this. > > I wonder if someone can help a friend of mine. Guest guest
My son did this, it was the WORST! It lasted a whole summer and I can only guess it ended because of more formed stools due to diet healing the gut. HTH Sharon

Guest guest
Wow -- so he's doing this after being potty trained. My guess is that this is a behaviorial issue. The child needs a time-out. Just hold him for 20 minutes -- no fun activities -- this will require lots of patience but eventually the kid will get it. Guest guest
My son started doing poop smearing. He said y Potty, his doll, was doing it. Finally I asked him why y Potty would do that. He said that y was trying to get the poop out of his bottom, it was stuck. And then he was trying to clean his hands so he put it on the wall. My son was HIGHLY agitated about this. He is still having horrible problems. He says he can only poop standing up (and in his underpants). We are going nuts. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Abid Khan Sent: Monday, November 06, 2006 10:52 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: poop smearing Wow -- so he's doing this after being potty trained. What I've noticed with MY son is that he will only do this when we stop giving him the proper diet and detox. He doesn't do this when he is eating properly and receiving his foot detox. There is really no full proof plan to stop this behavior other than constantly watching the child, which we all know is impossible. They are quick when it comes to this... It is a nightmmare for a parent to walk in a room where their child sits covered in poop and where the walls have been decorated in poop as well. I have to say for me personally this is the worst of the worst. I find that my ability to stay calm flys out the window when this happens. You want to yell and spank, but this is no good. The child just doesn't understand. My only advice is to try detox and diet see if things improve at all. - > > > > > --------------------------------- > Want to start your own business? Guest guest
I am so appreciative of the answers, and SO sorry that it's so common ... my friend with only NT children asked me if my son is not pooping in the potty for a " control issue " . I said " I don't think so given the look of both abject terror and pain in his eyes when he goes " . . . I don't know if he's capable of doing something like this for a control issue? (Yes he's creative but he's not happy about this situation) _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of judyblondblue Sent: Friday, November 10, 2006 6:01 PM Subject: [ ] Re: poop smearing I've found that if white vinager won't do it, baking soda paste will jbb -- In @ <mailto: %40> , " Carolyn Weissberg " <kylesmom@...> wrote: > > Okay, gross question, but how do you get it out of the swirls in the paint > in the wall? Guest guest
Very interesting. We are in a rental home that was built in the 80's though. But we have rented homes that could have had lead in the past. And we're doing TTFD and Glut (the quintet) right now. The weird thing is that he just started this a few months ago (the occassional smearing). The problems with the bathroom go back forever. Thanks to everyone for all the helpful suggestions. I simply could never find this out elsewhere! _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Asmus Sent: Saturday, November 11, 2006 2:46 AM Subject: [ ] Re: poop smearing Both of my kids did this as well. I wonder, is her house built in the 50's and 60's? I had a suspicion it was lead paint that was causing it, in addition to a bacterial problem. I have no " proof " , but I was all over the city going to doctors trying to fix this problem- it was quite serious for us. In the end, probiotics, enzymes, and diet fixed the problem. The swirls; clean it as best you can, and paint over it. Sounds like you might be dealing with lead. > > > > > > I wonder if someone can help a friend of mine.
