Yes I see Gardner. I used to be on Neurotin but my hair kept falling out. I was on just Depakote and then she added Kepra to my diet.

Love & blessings,

Are you seeing Dr Kathy Gardner? are you on neurontin?

In my experience, it can vary wildly. As already stated, if there's

an office of the company local to you they *might* have you come in

and test personally, but in many cases the recruiters and QA folks are

scattered around the country, just as the MTs are, and most of the

testing is handled via the computer. Sometimes, it involves only a

phone call and an oral test (which may include questions about grammar,

spelling, drug names and uses, etc.). Other times, it can be rather

grueling transcription of some rather hard-to-hear (and often ESL, to

boot) dictations, just to see how well you handle the unfamiliar. :-)

Most of the testing I've experienced has been pretty basic stuff,

however, and usually somewhat casual.

Hi ,

I know you already got some great responses and yes, it does indicate

protein. Just be aware that the dipsticks are known to not be as accurate as

lab

tests. I hope his protein levels are not on the rise. Please keep us posted

on how Rob is doing.

I have a question, all.

Tonight I went into the bathroom, and Rob had just finished and hadn't

flushed, and his urine, although yellow, looked like the 'foamy head of

beer' that I have heard you all describe.

What does this mean??

Nothing in the SF Chron either, nor have I seen it hit the local news.

Ronnie,

The Muscular Dystrophy Family FoundationR! may help find and pay for a

question

I need to build a garage to house my van. Where I want to put it will

make it about 30 to 36 inches lower than the house entry. At Spring Fling

Don looked the sight over and reminded me of the requirements for a

ramp. To get a ramp from that garage to the entry would require an awfully

long ramp. So I'm wondering. Vaughn? I don't do searches. My computer is

so slow I'd be dead before I got close to what I am looking for. Surely

there are elevator type lifts out there that aren't exactly elevators. My

van has a lift instead of a ramp. Would this same thing work in the garage?

Where would I find one of these and they just couldn't cost a million

dollars....or could they?

If we raise the garage to the same level as the house it is going to take

a lot of fill and make for a pretty steep entry as I don't have a whole lot

of ground to spread this thing out on. Any other suggestions?

Hi, Ronnie,

Was thinking, and it was especially tough for some reason. No need

for comment, Vaughn. Rather than raising the floor of the garage,

how about a raised " step " attached to the house? It could be

positioned by what ever entrance you plan (replacing a window with a

door?) and the lift can lower you to the step, then drive right into

the house. That would take much less fill, and should not increase

the cost all that much.If the " step " were long enough, you could put

things like the freezer on it and then not have to negotiate the step

to the present location.

Hi ,

First, thank you so much for your prayers, and to everyone else who has been

praying for us and for Jim's family too.

As to the transplant list, in the US, you can be listed when you get down to

20% function. It used to be that a Nephrologist could use their discretion

on when to list a patient here in the United States, but they rules were

changed over the past 4 or 5 years that you have to be at 20% or below to be

listed.

A preemptive transplant is where you get transplanted prior to being on

dialysis. They try to time a transplant between 10-15% so you do not have to

st

art dialysis first. If you have living donors who match, you have a good

chance of being able to do that.

Jing I believe is the last member that I can remember off the top of my head

who had a preemptive transplant. We have had other members with more recent

transplants, but they were on dialysis first. , one of our moderators

also had a preemptive transplant. It is the exception rather than the rule to

get a transplant prior to starting dialysis, but if it can be arranged, it

is easier on the patient.

I am wondering...I have not been able to find any specific info on my

question.....

At what point can you be put on the transplant list? Do you have to be at

a

certain level or can you go on the list at any time? I have read about a

preventative transplant....what is that?

Is is common for someone to get a transplant without being on dyalisis?

I know I will ask my neph all this when I go back, but that isn for another

2 weeks.

Thanks,

F

I hope this one goes through, my email doesn't like me much these days.

Simple question: do you only get the soreness in your throat area with Hashi's, or can that happen no matter what the cause of the hypothyroidism?

Thanks!
