Guest guest
Hi JB, I'm sorry you had a disappointment with your weigh-in this week. No one can know for sure what might be happening, but I will share what I've learned in 18 months on program. Often there's something we're missing. If you're faithfully writing down every bite, lick and taste and carefully measuring every single thing you eat, then my suggestion is to look at your journal for the past week. For some bodies, having a Just2Points bar every day, even if they're staying within their points, can throw off a weight loss. For some bodies, eating too many salty things can throw it off. For some bodies, not drinking the water can do it...or drinking too much coffee or diet sodas. For some people, they discover to their dismay that they weren't carefully measuring....maybe that Tbsp of peanut butter isn't leveled off, but rather it's " rounded " ... You probably see where I'm going with this. I wouldn't offend you by saying that you're doing anything wrong. Instead, I'd suggest that it may be something you're not aware of that you can do *better* - know what I mean? This has certainly been true in my case. Above all, I hope you're journaling! Many of the WW success stories have shown this to be the secret! Anyway, I hope this wasn't offensive. It was meant to be helpful! Bette in CA 278/168/160? Guest guest
Hi JB... it is quite possible that you are retaining water. Sara OP: January 5th, 2004 147/131/120 Yahoo! Messenger ID: thelittleprincess79 MSN Messenger ID: anewmein2005@... -----Original Message----- Hi All -- I'm new here, and I'm sorry to start with a query instead of a nice introduction, but I thought I'd just plunge right in. As of one week ago, I weighed 220 (peeked at the scale before Monday's WI.) Today I weigh 223. I have been solidly OP the entire time, measuring, weighing, water, dairy, no cheating. I have not been great about exercise, but surely I ought not to be gaining 3 pounds on this program? Can water weight fluctuations do this? I'm relatively new to the program (6 weeks, weight of 220 meant I had lost 10 pounds) and so I'm not familiar yet with what my body -- or one's body -- can do. Yikes! Guest guest
Hi JB! Stay off the scale! Weigh once a week at the same time in (relatively) the same clothes. You'll make yourself crazy otherwise. How do I know? Because I'm crazy. Last week I stepped on the scale and I'd gained 2 pounds. I had been POP. So the next day I stepped on the scale and I'd gained 2 MORE pounds. The next day TWO MORE! I about freaked out, but then I had to remind myself that I had done everything right, I had been on program, I had exercised and that is the right way to do things. This morning I was back down about 3.5 pounds which is just 1.5 pounds above my happy personal goal weight. I've lost 107 pounds (or so) and kept it off doing Weight Watchers so I know that it works. Sometimes your body just does this. It's all water weight, trust me. > > > Hi All -- > > I'm new here, and I'm sorry to start with a query instead of a nice > introduction, but I thought I'd just plunge right in. > > As of one week ago, I weighed 220 (peeked at the scale before > Monday's WI.) Guest guest
I've realized that this makes me crazy, too. I'll weigh myself in the morning, and I'll just obsess about that number all day long. If I gained from the day before, I'll obsess and be depressed, if I lost, I'll obsess and be happy, and maybe feel a bit too comfortable. I decided it's better to obsess about staying on program rather than on my weight. > Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 19:11:45 -0800 > > Subject: Re: Weight Fluctuation > > Hi JB! > > Stay off the scale!
