Guest guest
Joya, I don't know a LOT about it, but a friend at church sells it. She firmly believes in it and so does her husband. From what I gathered, there is the regular herba life stuff, but they also have a low carb higher protein version of the shakes and drinks. It's basically vitamins and such, with protein drinks taken as one or two meal replacements depending on what part of the program you are on. It is what they call Cell nutrition or something.......getting the whole cell, all the cells healthy. We were just talking about this Sunday night during evening nursery and she is going to call me to tell me more about it. It sounded very interesting to me. But I would like to know what it is about and if it goes with low carbing? Joya ---------------------------------

Guest guest
Little Joya, Kari will probably update you on this product since we have been around it for a long time, but basically it is a diuretic and physic and keeps the bowel so active you don't have time to digest all of the food. And you better stay near a toilet. It works for some but make sure they are in good health because it contain some of the questionable herbs like Mah Huang and could send blood pressure through the roof, unless they have changed their formula. As far as the selling, it's like Amway and Shaklee so if you are going to be a success you have to be a people person, knowledgeable about the product and able to conduct meetings when you get your sales group set up. If he doesn't like to sell or is shy with people, he won't be able to distribute Herbalife. The only selling point he might have is if he goes on it himself and loses, like, 100 lbs. or something like that. That's what got me interested in it several years ago, but my body just won't tolerate it. I have some here but just one tablet will send my colon into painful spasms that last until the product has passed. It would be wonderful if we could just take pills and lose this fat but so far nothing works for me like eating right and exercising. They do have a diet plan but I don't know if they stress lo-carb or no-fat, no-sugar. Like I said, Laru (who knows all, hears all, sees all) will update you as she does me on things on a regular basis. Mom Pudge, who has tried them all pudge@... Guest guest
There are web sites on it Joya. It is a drink that you take and a bunch of vitamins and like anything it does not work if you do not follow it. a teacher at work was on herbal life lost lots and has gained some aback. I have some papers here that she gave me. You can eat low carb on it as well if you want. I think it is fruit in the morning and a veggie in the after noon and a regular supper and the shake for dinner . Something like that. If this is shy tell him to forget it. Like I said in my reply to Joya...they have more than one program, one of which IS a low carb, higher protein drink. In the beginning, when not on maintenance, you drink a protein shake/drink for breakfast and lunch and then eat a regular dinner. Plus drink LOTS of water and exercise. Duh. I'm sorry it affected your colon in such an awful way, Mom P. I don't think I will end up trying it, due to finances, but I think it sounds interesting. I guess if I would take my multi-vitamin every day, plus some other stuff, I'd get a similar boost of energy as my friend says herbalife gives her, eh? ---------------------------------

Guest guest
I tried Herbalife a few years back. They said it would not cause any allergies because it was all herbal. So I tried it. I get asthma as a reaction to an allergy. Now one week into taking Herbalife, i started getting mild asthma. Usually when that happens I try to eliminate some of the foods I regularly eat to determine what was causing the allergy. I had eliminated eggs, tomatoes, peanuts, and even did major house cleaning as it could have been caused by housedust. The bad thing about all this is even when i took antihistamines the wheezing never left. So for two weeks I had the asthma that wouldnt go away. And it puzzled me no end..I traced back if there were any new things I had incorporated into my life. At first it never occurred to me that the Herbalife was causing all this. Stupid me, took the word of the sales agent that it never causes allergy. Well I stopped taking it. The wheezing stopped gradually after two weeks of getting off the stuff. I kept telling the one who sold me the stuff never to say that Herbalife doesn't cause allergies. But he wouldn't believe me. He was insisting the asthma/allergy was caused by something else. It was a mild allergy that built up in my system and made me very uncomfortable for weeks!!!!! I have never had such an allergy like that one ever again. No more herbs for me! Herbal Life Can anybody tell me what this is about?
