Hi,

Just want to throw something at you guys. Since Ava is in the DBB, I

noticed she is getting that flat look to her head. Know what I mean??

It's not terrible but I know she will be in these for along time and

I don't want it to get real bad. When she is sleeping it is on her

back and I try to rotate her head from side to side but it's still

looking flat. I know I can't put her on her side because her one leg

sticks up in the air. I've tried putting a small pillow between her

legs when laying her on her side but she wakes more often. That

seemed to only work when she was in casts and very content. During

the day I do let her nap on her belly that is how she is most

comfortable and I am able to keep an eye on her.

Any suggestions??

Hi KK,

It shouldn't be an issue for long.. because they start rolling over

and changing sleeping position on their own. Does Ava roll over yet?

My daughter most often would roll right over to her tummy, and sleep

with her knees bent and the brace tucked under her. Or end up with

one leg in the air.. or propped up on the side of the crib. It might

look uncomfortable to us, but a lot of kids seem to be OK with it!

All 4 of my babies slept/sleep on their stomachs. The only reason the

Drs say to have them sleep on their back is to reduce the risks of

SIDS. Im sure that if your child is in the DBB already, youre past

the timeframe where theyre at risk for SIDS.

I don't know - Everett sleeps all over the place, side, back, belly and various

combinations of the three. I never did use a pillow or blanket to prop his

legs, when he side-sleeps, he just has a leg sticking straight up! haha Can

Ava roll over with the DBB on yet? I'd let her sleep on her belly more I

guess, if she can roll around freely on her own.
