Guest guest
Hi Dane thanks for response.I thought so too,now I just have to get the docs to agree. Theresa [ ] Re: ebv,,Dana? >>When hubby took her to ear nose throat doc > he wants to remove her tonsills, does this make sense to do to someone who already gets sick alot? I don't know much about tonsillitis, hopefully someone else does. However, I would be much more inclined to find the reason your child is sick, and the throat inflammed, rather than what I consider a drastic option of surgery. >>I want to begin w/monolaurin to try to reduce virus,it would have to be some kind of virus? You can try that if you want, see if it helps. Dana =======================================================
Guest guest
esptein bar virus could have easily been injected by the polio vax. I too had tonsilitis as a young child.......... later after mercury fillings[ disabling my immune system] I had mono [which is ebv] and asthma--- Shepard <_Shepard@...> wrote: > > I had tonsilitis every six months fom age 5 until 21 > when they removed them. Guest guest
Moria, Thank you for your ideas,I was not comforatable having more surgery when it has not been succesfull for her before eye still turning in and adnoids supposedly were out 6 yrs ago when eartubes were done.I am going to call the ped (gatekeeper)today and tell her no.We used to brush her w/small surgical brush per ot w/joint compression for sensory.I am giving all kids garlic ,we are a stinky bunch, but it is working I was coming down w/fever and sorethroat and after 1 1/2 days it went away.Even though speech therapy is first treatment for vpi,ent doc said to wait after surgery.I do not mean to get on a rant but come on I finally have a reason for my insurance to pay for speech and cannot get dr.to write the script.I am more a reader than poster but have been so grateful to get all the good info and ideas from people and my kids are so much better for it thank you theresa [ ] Re: ebv,,Dana? > hello all, > it is me again, maybe one day I can be helpful instead of always needing help.I remember in some of the postings > about evb and tonsills.last week all my kids were ill w/variety of symptoms.baby had high fevers ,upset tummy > small cough.other kids no fever upset tummys (runny weird stools) then dd was found to have red throat and very enlarged tonsils, this child stays sick very often.she tested neg strep. When hubby took her to ear nose throat doc > he wants to remove her tonsills, does this make sense to do to someone who already gets sick alot? to me it really makes no sense. The tonsils are part of the immune system.... > hubby asked about evb virus and doc said no,her throat was not red enough and glands were not swollen enough. He also scared hubby cause he said her tonsills were touching each other and contributing to apnea. I have never been diagnosed with sleep apnea, but I have symptoms that I think match sleep apnea. I have these symptoms ONLY IF my neck is not adequately supported AND I sleep on my back. To " adequately support " my neck I use a buckwheat hull pillow. This will not " fix " sleep apnea in all cases, but it does work *for me* and it is overall a pretty easy and cheap method. > I want to begin w/monolaurin to try to reduce virus,it would have to be some kind of virus? No, I think it could be bacterial or viral. > Also the geneticist said dd had vpi > and other doc said because of tonsils.Anyway hubby sceduled her forsurgery 27th this month.any ideas how to kick this virus out in short order, btw,dd has rash face > tummy, thighs, baby has rash on neck and other 2 kids have > canker sores in mouth.would it seem logical to ask for a test of immune system before agreeing to surgery? Possibly I should not comment since I just really think this surgery is a very bad idea. In terms of getting the inflammation down, I would suggest that you do as many of the following as you can: a. skin brushing. Buy a skin brush at the HFS and ask someone there if they sell a book/booklet about how to use it. Good for the lymph system, which is the system with " swollen glands " b. give vitamin C 3 or 4 times a day c. consider all other anti-viral and anti-bacterial and immune stimulating foods and herbs, e.g. vitamin A, garlic, echinacea d. go to a acupuntruist who works with children. There are lots of herbs that they can recommend to help the body heal. If this is not relevant or possible, you could look also for a naturopath ( " N.D. " ). An ND will be able to help you out with how to support the body in healing also. e. on general principle I would also give lots of water to drink (if this is possible for this child) and do some aerobic exericse every day-- both help the body with detox in general. f. inducing fever may also be worthwhile. (Fever GREATLY helps the immune system to fight pathogens.) I've only done this with mySELF, so I'm not sure what to suggest exactly about how to do it CAREFULLY with kids. I do not think the above list is by any means perfect or complete. I'm trying to give you some ideas though, since the surgery seems to be something that is actually being considered -- I think if you can get some real help and support for OTHER methods, maybe you can stop considering the surgery idea. But I do think you need practical alternatives. good wishes, Moria > I am afraid to do the surgery,dd is in a regression right now that was just starting to get better and the anestia(SP) always makes her worse > again grateful thanks for your responses! > Theresa > > >
