Well, it looks like we are having some sort of relapse. It wasn't

explained to me very well, just something about the tendons in her

right foot.... one side is tighter than the other and he thinks that

she might end up needing surgery.

She had dorsioflexion? in the left foot of 5 and the right or 10-

15 Does that sound right?

I am trying to figure out what step we are going to take next. Dr.

King wanted to put her in a brace during the day called a SMO??? Has

anyone heard of that???? I am going to work on getting some

pictures taken and sent to Dr. P tonight. I guess we will go from

there *sigh*

I don't know if you saw my post to Angel a few days ago, but I know exactly what

you are talking about. Rose just went in for her checkup and the Dr explained

that we have two tendons on the top of our foot and they work together to lift

our foot. In about 30% of club foot children, one tendon is stronger than the

other, causing the foot to lift sideways. He said that they cannot detect this

at birth, they just have to straighten out the foot and then hope for the best.

So it is not really a relapse, it is just part of the beast. The surgery is

called an ATTT and they take a tendon from one side and stretch it across and

reattach it on the other so the foot can be lifted properly.

I don't know about the brace since Rose's foot is apparently okay. I hope this

was of some help.
