Guest guest
My son is not in daycare, but he is in preschool. What is the age range of the baby room your child is in? Are there walkers and/or talkers yet? I'm not sure this will help, but the approach I took with the parents at preschool was that I sent an email to everyone explaining that Jake was going to be getting a new " hat " . I briefly told them Jake's story and explained what the helmet would do and how long he would be wearing it. I thought it was best to give everyone a heads up, so that they could maybe talk to their child about Jake's " hat " (for those who could talk) and so there were no surprises when we showed up at school for the first time with it. It also helped to make the other parents feel comfortable about broaching the subject, and not awkward wondering if they should ask questions or whatever. Plus it saved me the hassle of repeating the story over and over again! If you don't have access to everyone's email, maybe you could just type up a note that the daycare providers can send home with everyone. I really think it would make the transition easier, especially for you, because it would hopefully nip any stares and weird questions in the bud! Hope that helps!
