Guest guest
I note with interest that I as a parent have no idea what the latest numbers of new cases in the autism spectrum actually are in relationship to what numbers the CDC is seeing. I do know that many of contrary opinion expressed continually mention that better diagnosis and awareness have been responsible for innocently " padding " our present numbers to give us a false perspective, and thus stoked what might have been described in literature as a small band of parents' unreasonable urgency to pull the trigger on the mercury. For what it's worth, perhaps in something I've read or in passing thought, some of these " seasoned experts " and " non alarmists " may have even suggested that the criteria of diagnosis was even lowered to get more children counted to create an epidemic. Maybe it was Savage, Ph.D? I suppose that the first reaction to the removal of thimerosal from the vaccines would be less new cases in a sort of reverse retroactive from the actual removal date forward to the date or time of regression and actual diagnosis thereafter, which can be basically any time the parents cast their dice, but since the CDC and FDA decided to suggest what was to become a rolling reduction or slow phase out of TCVs, and not the immediate recall that we've seen in historical incidents such tainted Tylenol, or more recently when whoever made the call on the Mad Cow tainted beef, it's a challenge to make any conclusions as to whether or not the removal of TCVs actually has decreased new cases, except to look for a sharp drop-off in new cases over an extended period of time, perhaps somewhere in the window of five years after the last of the complete TCV scheduled shot is jabbed. It stands to reason that now the mercury is out new cases will have already peaked. As a parent of a five year old son in the spectrum, I can say with a clear conscience that, without a doubt, there are plenty of children injured by TCVs remaining undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, etc. They remain uncounted as well. The A.L.E.R.T. sounded by the CDC does have a rather inquisitive quality to its' ping. If they are seeing a drop off in cases, and for some known reason they decide that these numbers just won't do....well....It doesn't take much to conjure up the notion that they have seen the most recent numbers, detect at least a drop, and are presently employing this alarming A.L.E.R.T. in an effort to once again do what they need to do to present fuzzy figures in all their glorious fuzziness. We are also faced with the new reality that the CDC has suddenly come about from supporting the monkey business of fudging figures to support their assertion that there is no epidemic, and is finally taking matters seriously after a long multiple-year delay of action. 1 in 6 is actually more than what the Geier's have been mentioning. 1 in 166 is quite an increase from a general average of 1 in 250. Still the CDC is part of a consortium of people more interested in pointing out to the media that surveys note that 90% of all pediatricians have had at least one parental refusal of vaccines in the past year. Conflicts of interest. Conflicts of information. Conflicts of ideals. Conflicts with leading experts and their science. Conflict after conflict. It's a wonder why authorities like Dr. Dave Weldon, Dan Burton, Arlen Spector, Jim Greenwood and others don't insist on giving Gerberding the boot? Might that get her talking? Guest guest
What I find absurd in this is an " alert " ....to screen kids for autism..then most of the links, AAP/CDC refer then to speech or pharmacological (meds)...how is any of this helpful...and the answer is, it isn't. It's total BS and for the AAP to not have medical testing referrals (though they do mention LEAD, and this is interesting that they do not deny that issue) and NEVER mention other medical/physical signs in the screening..but only mention behavioral signs...it becomes more obvious to me daily of the denial and outright continuation of suffering that our kids have to endure...and since this is a medical organization...how about we bug them to medically test and treat our children and not with psychotropics but for their real problems..GI, allergies, food, vision, sensory, etc...why are we not demanding that our kids have REAL medical issues and that the AAP continues to deny, not do research into, nor treat MEDICALLY.....They might as well be the APA (American Psychiatric Association)! This condition known as autism needs to be taken out of DSM and we parents need to do this! The posters back in the LEAD days were " Why ny can't read " ...and now it should be " Why ny can't talk " ! I know this AAP medical screening will not happen now, but I think it could cause a stir that they will have to explain..sorry for my rantings but I'm so sick of the deceit.
