Guest guest
I had thyroid problem since 9 yrs. old.. Took meds then off of them till 49 yrs. old when went into thyroid storm... My neice, a teenager is in remission right now... All my adult life was told I had yeast infections even when I had no sign of it when pap smears done.. I also lived on veggies and very little meat, no salt added till a few yrs. before the thyroid storm.. Now since I-131 have hives from many foods, weight gain.. Eat almost nothing but salads now to stop getting the hives.. If I eat anything with peanutbutter I scratch like a monkey for days... My grandaughter even has the nerve to tell me my back is all read... Glad she can't see the rest of me... My grandaughters have had yeast infections since infants.. If it can be proven that that is a cause then would remove all yeast from their diets... Wish they would investigate some of these theories... Take care, Becki ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Becki - I think you were referring to me. I'm sorry I didn't answer sooner, but I read these posts on the web (I don't receive individual emails - too overwhelming for my limited computer talents...... Anyway, I recently discovered that yeast turns into fungus which turns into mold, or something like that. The yeast problem seems to be widespread - and it can cause problems in several organs and tissues, if not all of them. I usually get mouth thrush when my system is overloaded with these parasites. I took Nystatin (a type of anti-fungal used in Candida infestation) once, and sure feel like I might need something like that again with my IBS being unrelenting this time. We all share your frustration over " just talking about this " and not getting anyone in the medical profession to wake up and start investigating. I have made countless contacts, and I get ignored. I felt it might be worthwhile for the medical establishment to look into long-term ATDs, but noooooooooooooooooooooo. I was rebuffed, ignored and most endos I go to try to shuffle me out of their office as quickly as possible. (I " ve been on Tapazole since 1979.) Wish I had more faith in our government to run studies on thyroid dysfunction. For now, we can find lots of research from Germany, Denmark, Japan and many others who WANT to conquer thyroid disorders. Thank goodness we have the internet for sources. I personally think the US is doing a land office business with our thyroids right now, and the LAST thing they want is to cure them! Cuts into the bottom line??
