Guest guest
I got a preliminary reply from Dr Ponseti today. I have to call him tomorrow to exchange some more information, and I am still awaiting Dr Mosca's opinion, but for now it looks like another 1-2 casts for Kai - this time toe to groin because the forefoot is involved - at 2 week intervals again. The forefoot is in adduction again for certain, and we will find out more when we talk to him. Dr Ponseti wanted us to check the strength in the toe muscles so we did what he said and, well, it wasnt good. Apparently Kai is not capable of dorsiflexing his big toe ... I dont know what this means, but I guess we will find out. He did say that hte other child who got a blister on the dorsum (top of foot just in front of ankle) from the shoes also has a foot like Kai's. His exact words " It occurs only in these short, chubby, difficult to treat feet " Thankfully I got over the boohoos last week, now it is just getting ready for the inevitable. I do look forward to the time that we can go more than 3 months without a relapse though! Angel
