Guest guest
Can you believe this? I wrote to the Arthritis Foundation to see if they had literature connecting EDS to arthritis to get them to advertise for us. This is an excerpt from the letter I received. If the Arthritis foundation doesn\'t even know what EDS is, we are in serious trouble!!! Judy/Atlanta Mrs. Sobel, EDS IS a type of arthritis (there are over a hundred types of arthritis and related diseases). The doctor specialized in arthritis is the rheumatologist. This doctor can treat all the rheumatic diseases like EDS, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and even fibromyalgia... Guest guest
If you go to the Arthritis Foundation website there is information about EHS. here is the link. http://www.arthritis.org/conditions/DiseaseCenter/eds.asp I had contacted them before to see if they had any further information, but they did not. They just sent me information about the different forms of arthritis. Jen > > > > Can you believe this? Guest guest
I've just got to know, Did you write back telling them how ignorant they are...? I'm sure if we put our heads together we could find a way to publically humiliate them!! Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! CHeers Roachie Can you believe this? Guest guest
Hi Judy, Long time no see... Nice to " see " you... I went to the site and saw that they also use the old nosology. So I wrote them about it. I also mentioned " Remember that EDS is not a type of arthritis.... " I don't like the list they use where they say it is over a hundred types of arthritis. In my opinion that list is also INCORRECT. They mention e.g. tendonitis as a type. Tendonitis is not a type of arthritis. Ask any doctor. Many people with arthritis gets it though as part of their disease, but that is a whole other issue!!! I think their list is very misleading!!!! It is a bit better as she says it in her mail though " related diseases " , but that is not good enough either, in my opinion. E.g. tendonitis is not a " related disease " either, it is not a disease... Maybe they are hoping that every person that e.g. gets tendonitis will become members? He-he... Have a nice day!!!
