Hi ,

No, what it means is that when you call you will not have to wait months to

be able to see him (nor will you wait too long when you are there). You

still need to call and make an app't- the support staff will be grateful!

(we had the same confusion).

trip to IA

Dr Ponseti wrote back and he says that does have atypical

feet and that I sould go down. It says that he sees patients in the

mornings MWF and there is no waiting for appointments. Does this

mean I don't have to call and make an appointment?

Not quite ;) Call and ask for Joyce and she will set an appointment

for as soon a possible for you to be there. She will work with you

on it. I had to fly from Seattle - which is not cheap - so I could

not get there " right away " and she just asked me how soon I would be

able to come and gave Kai an appointment for then.

Hi ,

When I first called to schedule an appointment, the scheduling

office gave me dates that involved a month or more wait. I told

them I had already spoken with Dr. Ponseti, and I received an

appointment within days. Phone# for scheduling:

I anyone going to be seeing Dr. P on May 3? I'd love to meet other

parents! I will be bringing Zeke for his first checkup after being

in the DBB. He's 1 year old now, cruising but not standing or

walking unassisted (I can wait, he's plenty fast run-crawling); I

think his feet look right but I will be glad to hear Dr. Ponseti's

word on that one way or another!

One last note; we took Zeke to his one year appt. w/ his

pediatrician, and she was very curious to see his feet. She was

quite impressed, saying " they look just like feet should " and " you

wouldn't know they were ever clubbed " . I think his were the first

non-surgically treated feet she'd ever seen.

Caroline, mom to Zeke, born in Samoa, adopted Oct 03, bilateral cf

We will be in Iowa on May 3rd! Our appointment isn't until 11:30,

but we'll be coming in a bit earlier to have a cast removed. We

will look for you there!
