Hello everyone,

Things are looking better than I expected!!! My surgery went well, all of my

hardware (1 plate and 12 screws) was removed quite smoothly. There was a

little tugging on the muscles and some bone growth on the plate that needed

to be removed, but all in all a clean job!! I can actually already take a

few steps here and there, amazing in my eyes!!! I had four incisions one

fairly large, but they are healing relatively well. They are quite painful,

but I have good drugs for that! : ) I feel pretty good, but I do require a

lot more rest then I am used to. I must say the hardest part for me is to

sit still and do nothing for soooo long!! I have a follow up appointment

this Friday and should know more about the length of my recovery then. I'm

hoping for some good bone growth in the holes from the screws.

GUESS WHAT I HAVE THE QUILT!!!!!! It is absolutely beautiful!! My husband is

fixing our digital camera and we plan to take pictures over the weekend. I

will post pictures of the quilt hopefully next week so you all can see the

pictures!!! I have a call in to the administrator at the University of IOWA

to plan some type of presentation of the quilt to Dr. Ponseti on our behalf.

Unfortunately there is no big celebration, but it the message we send and

that's a big one!! We love Dr. P!! I also plan to send the donations to the

University Of IOWA with the quilt, probably by the end of next week, so if

there is anyone else who would still like to contribute please let me know

ASAP and I can make sure you will be included!!

Thank you all for your continued support.
