My lab uses a new range of 11-22 for T4 so using that range you are extremely hypo.. I have seen others post labs from 5-12..meaning you are in the middle of range and others post a range of 1.1-2.2 which would make you extremely hyper.. You are getting symptoms and feeling bad because your hormone levels are off.. the whole body runs on sets of hormones and the thyroid hormone is the master commander of it all..mess it up and well everytihng messes up, and waiting 4 months for an appointment is enough stress in its own.. If you have nodules ( cysts) and are hyper then you most likely have toxic multinodular goiter.. The doctor has run one antibody test on you , unfortunately all it shows is you have inflammation of the thyroid.. You need a TSI antibody test ( thyroid stimulating Hormone) to determine if your hyper is caused by grave's( autoimmune thyroid disorder) and /or toxic nodules.. Some Endo's may try and talk you into immediate action to treat your hyper.. RAI, surgery..Antithyroid drugs will lower your thyroid levels and allow you to think clearly about your options.. I suggest you go this route and then explore your treatment options.. just remember ATD's can always be stopped, RAI and surgery are permanent..
