Guest guest
Hi again Louis, I don't mind sharing info, this "family" I have here is what gets me through the days/hours/mins. We are here for one and all! I have been on Zoloft for several years, the first time I had to leave my job at the hospital due to this lovely disease, I went into depression, and the doc put me on the medication, that was probably 9-10 years ago, I have been dx for 11 years I was having lung problems then, no neuro. When I went to "National Jewish" (someone asked about this hosp.) the first time for my lungs, they were very helpful and supportive, when I went back about 2 years ago for the Neuro symptoms, it was different story, I had my "mental Psych" eval there, and it said my results are consistent with NeruoSarc and "depression", (no kidding) this is my theory, how can you not have some degree of depression if you are dealing with Sarcoid in any way, shape or form??? :-\ . The doc there then tried to tell me that it was more depression then "neuro", after telling her several times, it is not depression, as I have been there, done that, and this is very different, she continued to bring depression up, I was so upset by then, I just got in her face and told her, This is not depression like she thinks, and she probably doesn't really have a clue what depression is like! Needless to say, she put in the report that I was " a 40 something, frustrated, depressed pale women" How do you like that for a diagnosis > , my Pulm doc, just laughed at it and said, she doesn't know you like I do?? So the next time he brought up me going back to Nat. Jewish, I just gave him the eye, and said oh ya, guess that isn't an option, "a like NOoooooo" :-P . OK that's probably more info then you really wanted, sorry, I'm sure that Nat. Jewish is very helpful when it comes to "lungs" that is what they specialize in, but any other problem, ???? Man am I full of it today, not sure where this is coming from, but it feels good, so thanks for listening!! Love and God Bless, Marla Howdy again all, Seems that I have seen some indication that stress (or severe stress) can trigger sarcoid and Neurosarcoidosis in some cases. And depression and stress can be a symptom of sarcoid and Neurosarcoidosis. Has anyone ran into this situation? What is the thinking behind anti-depressants? Are there contraindications for anti-depressants? Again thanks all, this seems like a beatable illness or at least one that can be put in check and I deeply appreciate all the assistance everyone has given me in my (and our) quest to put this beast at bay. Thanks so much, Louis
