Guest guest
To Cyndi I feel compelled to explain something. I did not mean to offend you by telling you to not be afraid of the UAE procedure. The reason I put it this way (and would continue to do so in general terms) is because there is a LOT of misinformation about UAE that is published in large part by HERS. If you've been reading all the forum posts you've probably seen Carla's, and others, messages about how HERS uses some very unpleasant scare tactics to convince women about their approach versus any other. So, what I hope for, with the women I post to, is that they would understand that some of what is out there is not true, and that there are many of us for whom this procedure was the only option besides either hysterectomy or best case, myo. In my case I would have had to fight for a very long time to get a myo (I'm 49) and I really really did not want surgery. My symptoms were getting worse, I was compromising my bladder and urethra and likely would have done my kidneys eventually too. When I learned the full story about UAE I was grateful to have that as a possibility. I have my uterus, and I have no symptoms. I'm sorry you interpreted my message as possibly sounding like some of the condescending doctors that you have no doubt dealt with! It wasn't meant to be that way. Your own situation is different, and in any case, every woman has to make her own decisions based on her own particular set of medical (and emotional, psychological etc) reasons. But, once again I have to reiterate that because many women have been misinformed about their options, I felt compelled to tout UAE. best, laurie g. I am praying for you, Dylan, and your family. Hugs, Sue Ginley
