Here's what I did...might help someone who's having trouble!

I put Owen in his highchair and gave him some 'munchies' to keep him

occupied. I attached my sheet of paper to a clipboard so that I'd

have a hard surface to get his prints.

I used the liquid tempera paint (the kind most schools use) spread

out on to a paper plate. After a few tries, I found that if you let

it sit a bit, it starts to get 'sticky' as it dries out....that's

when you want to use it! I used a broad paint brush to paint the

foot...held it out 'to dry' for about a minute and then did the

print. I had a little margarine tub filled with warm water and a

wash cloth so that I could clean up his foot before I moved on to the

next one.

Hope this helps someone!

Thanks Daiga! I will try putting Becky in her booster seat and see

if that works. The thing is the minute the paint touches the bottom

of her foot she is screaming bloody murder :( It could have

more to do with the fact that she is 2 1/2 than the clubfoot though.

LOL

Thanks again!

Claire and I made the prints the other day..

she sat on the laundry room floor. I put kids' tempera paint on a

paper plate, and painted one foot with a brush, scooted a piece of

paper near her, and put her foot down on paper on the floor.. all

while she was sitting down.

I figured out it worked best to not to have too much paint on the

foot, not to put much at all in the arch area, and to press down on

each toe. I told her to hold still and not wiggle her toes.

We got a good set after about 5 tries. Then she got her feet washed

off in the laundry room sink.

She enjoyed it.. although she was very opinionated about the color I

used!
