Guest guest
Kim, You can always come here to vent, whine, ask questions, be yourself, and most importantly talk to people who DO understand what's happening to you. I just saw that you live in the area where we will be spending Easter week. Would you like to meet and talk? I have done this before when in your area with a member from Anaheim whose hubby drives her up to meet me for a few hours. I am happy to meet and talk with you, too, if you like. I will be in Wasco over Easter, and leaving for home around the 16th. So, if you could get together any day between the 12th and 15th, that would be fine. My friend would welcome you at their home in Wasco, or I could get directions from them to meet you in Bakersfield if you prefer. I can't do stairs, so would have to meet where parking is very close to the place we would meet. Now, about your other problems of having no one to share your concerns with, and your hubby being reluctant to listen to any bad news regarding your condition...His reaction is pretty normal, and to be expected. However, if he's smart, and he must have been to marry you, he will get curious and want to know more about things as time goes on. He would be a welcome member of the group as well. We have had couples join in the past, and in fact hubbies of Lupus patients have been known to join first and get the patient to join later on. There are lots of informational articles available, too, through the group, and our owners, Deanna and often post them on the main board for your convenience. There is one that is particularly helpful at explaining Lupus to family and friends. You can access these articles in your own good time, also, by going to www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html and picking up any articles which interest you there. Please let me know if you want to meet me while I am in Wasco. We will be leaving here on 4/8, and returning home on 4/16, or thereabouts. If I decide I need to return home earlier, I will inform the group. Welcome to the group.
