Guest guest
I've been trying to read as many email as I can, but I've got about enough energy to get a status report out on my surgery and recovery. I ended up getting a mini bypass, and I think I'm going to love it. 50% of my omentum was stuffed into my umbilical hernia...and I have a LOT of omentum..which added time to the surgery. But I'm blessed I decided to have this surgery and thus the hernia repair (which I probably wouldnt have done yet) since he said it was huge and needed work asap. And the icing on the cake was that he threw that part of the omentum away! Yipee. I had no idea what I was in store for with the Leak Test (boy, they make it sound like such a cute little harmless thing) Swallowing a cup of what tastes like liquid aspirin while standing on a tiny ledge in front of the flouroscopy screen, praying not to wretch..I moved, so I had to drink another cup. My eyes must have been bulging because he said OK OK stop! Dont make her drink anymore, followed by a time spent in the bathroom with diarrhea. I was overjoyed to be finished with it. Dr Ungson and his staff, and just every single person my son and I delt with treated us with the utmost kindness and concern. Surgery was a snap, really (everything was a snap compared to the leak test) and my greatest pain at this point is back and leg pain from the surgical table and from being in bed. I'm sipping away at crystal light religiously. Dr U's nurse comes to the hotel daily for my care...today I had a mild fever - 100.4 and was started on antibiotics. I'm coughing green stuff so its resp and not wound anyway. Charlie and I are having a ball...I couldnt be happier to have made the choice to have this surgery, and to come to Mexico to have it. More later Hugs, __________________________________________________
