Guest guest
Hi Anne You're story sounds similar to mine. I am 36, with no children. Although I am in a serious relationship with a man who has been very supportive of all that I am dealing with. I too have been on BC since 17 and until recently had what some women would consider dream periods. 1 to 2 days with no cramping and little bleeding (the ocassional clot). It was only a few months ago that my periods got very heavy (up to 9 days of constant bleeding) and my cramps became unbearable. I was also going to the restroom all of the time. I didn't make the conection to fibroids. I drink up to 60 oz of water a day so the peeing thing was no surprise. As far as I knew, no one in my family had fibroids (I now know my mother had them). I shrugged off the cramping and bleeding to " one of those things. " During my annual Gyno appointment I mentioned what was happening. She immediately suspected fibroids. Ultrasound found two. One very small and the main culprit being 9 cm. Because I want children I decided to have a myo. I am scheduled for Feb 19th. I'm nervous but I know this is the right choice for me. Had I not talked to my Gyn I wouldn't know about the fibroids and probably would only suspect once trying to get pregnant or after getting pregnant. I strongly recommend talking to your doctor. Don't jump to conclusions until you have a definite diagnosis and then weigh your options. Best of luck M
