Hi Sonja,

Your doctor is right that the curly toes aren't related to clubfoot. My son

is a unilateral left clubfoot and he curled all of his toes (except big

toes) on BOTH feet, his clubfoot and non-clubfoot. I repeatly asked at EVERY

appt because I was so freaked out they would never straighten out. My ortho

reassured me that it is VERY common and they will straighten out around the

age of 2. They need to bear weight (walk) for quite some time to straighten

them out. My son started walking at 10 months and it wasn't until about 23

months that they started straightening out. He is now 26 months and they are

all straight. Just give it time. I posted the same subject line over 1 1/2

yr ago and many people emailed me back saying it was normal.

Hope this puts your mind to some ease.

Becky used to have the same problem. And now at 2 1/2 they are

finally straightening out. She still has a few that are a little

crooked, but they are alot better than they were. I agree with

what said, don't worry they will straighten out with time. :)

and Becky, 2 1/2, bilateral clubfoot, corrected by Dr.P
