Guest guest
Wow pauline, Its great to hear you speak so highly of Mr.Treacy and his team and also to hear how well you are doing. It's really lovely to hear you had such a possitive outcome after so much suffering, you've done really well getting through that difficult time. What's the tramadol turkey like? I'm dreading it. Did it take long. I take between 6 and 12 a day. I don't take anti inflams like celecoxib and diclofenac due too hearing they cause complications for hip surgery. Never mind I cant wait to see Mr. Treacy, My GP referred me recently and I'm waiting to hear more. Thank-you ine. love Zoe(still laughing about bungyjumping!!) :-} > Hi everyone > > My second resurfacing, 10 days ago, at the Birmingham Nuffield > Hospital was an amazing experience. > > Some of you may recall that I became addicted to Tramadol/morphine > after my first resurfacing (different surgeon/hospital) eleven months > ago. Guest guest
Oh ine, How wonderful to have you back safe and well. Congratulations!! Little pain and few meds---no wonder you have a positive outlook. Gosh-it sounds like you might be one of those whose second hip experience is very different from their first. We look forward to hearing your progress over the next weeks/months---at whatever pace. You are an inspiration to us. Eleanor Mr Treacy and his wonderful team Hi everyone My second resurfacing, 10 days ago, at the Birmingham Nuffield Hospital was an amazing experience. Some of you may recall that I became addicted to Tramadol/morphine after my first resurfacing (different surgeon/hospital) eleven months ago. I would not wish the subsequent withdrawal experience on anyone...I thought I was going mad!!. So, I had a seriously deteriorating hip (I was hardle able to walk with one crutch) and was terrified about facing another operation and possible regression. I felt that the only way for me was to go to one of the top surgeons in the world, with a very short operation time (35-45 mins), and a highly experienced support team (thousands of ops behind them...45 alone the week I was in). I was lucky that Mr Treacy is only two hours drive away and was happy to take me on. Mr Ronan Treacy, Dr Freeman (anaesthetist), Onions (Mr Treacy's surgical assistant) and their nursing and administration teams were incredible. They are a true team: very focussed, caring, communicative, humourous and are perfectionists. I have returned home feeling better than I have for over a year, with little pain, few meds and a very positive outlook. I feel that if you are lucky enough to be treated by Mr Treacy's team you have nothing to fear. It's now up to me to do my bit: rest, exercise and listening to the body....for the coming months. Since I belong to the 'Turtles' it may take a while but what a prize awaits me if I get it right!! Thank you for the constant support I had from the surface hippies, especially Edith, Peggarthy, , Des, Lucy, Pat and Lari. ine _____
