Guest guest
- I had the lid retraction surgery in February and it is not too bad of a procedure. The request about the aspirin in your system is to reduce the thinning of your blood. I had 4 previous surgeries and this one wa the only one being done with twilight sleep. Basically the cut the lid from corner to corner, remove the fatty pockets and stitch you back up. The recovery isn't all that bad, and the pain is tolerable with pain pills for a few days. Bruising is common and of course your lid will be swollen with stitches and with the swelling as it heals the lid will begin to look more normal in time. With the surgeries I've had previously the eye pain wasn't too bad, but the nerve regeneration can be somewhat painful. Not constant pain, but periodic pain for a few seconds and then go away. Best of luck Nance > Hi > > I am on my 1 week count down to surgery. Do you have any suggestions > how I might best prepare my body for a speedy recovery? Guest guest
-- I'd get any chores work done well ahead of time, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water and visualize a speedy recovery! I'm not sure if there's anything else -- that's sort of what I did. Also, call your doc before the surgery date if you have any last minute questions as you may be too nervous to remember the day of. good luck!!!! I'm sure it will go great.
