Guest guest
Thank you , I definitely found myself in a discussion I felt very uncomfortable about. That is why I was trying to move the discussion. Unfortunately nobody followed me, so I guess the discussion is over. I will still continue to raise awareness any way I can. However I most certainly can understand the reasons why other people don't want to. We are all individuals who fight with this autism diagnosis, in our own way. I praise the people who concentrate on their own children. It is after all our own families we fight for. I also priase the people who are willing to take up the fight on a bigger level - we need them too. I have a big picture of my son hanging in my office. Underneath it, it says " Never forget who you are fighting for " . Sometimes I do have to catch myself ignoring my son's plea for a game of yu-gi-oh because of the work I do, but I am trying hard to balance it all. I am most certainly not super mom - my house is a mess, I work 40 hours per week and my husband sees me in passing. My diet consists of caffein pills (ephedra-free of course, lol) and red bull. Is it all worth it? When I look at my son there is no question about it! Bottom line: My hat goes off to each and every one of the people on the autism treatment list for everything you do for your children!!!!!!!! I have seen throughout all the battles we have fought medically and educationally that raw anger turns off people's ears and minds. You have a very clear but firm way of communicating, and I know that whatever you choose to use these gifts for, you will have doors opened for you. As I mentioned before, I am in over my head with my kids' needs, but I hope you will keep me posted re: what is happening and how I can help. Continued blessings on your work and vision -- thank you for your graciousness. It is balm to a weary soul... , mom to and [ ] Too much politics I guess some people are tired of our WAKE UP posts, which I certainly can understand. The autism treatment group was established to " discuss current issues related to the increasing incidence of autism and the potential link between excessive mercury exposure and autism " . I guess that is not what we are doing, so I have created a group where we can discuss ideas and action without insulting some of our fellow group members. Autism-action@... I have just created the group and nothing has been posted yet, but I will work on it after my son goes to bed. Guest guest
That is a very big fear here to. But there are so many ways to do it without getting nasty. Local newspapers, libraries, hospitals and even dr. offices. Retailation toward the child can be stopped by knowing the laws and regulations of IDEA. Many times officials back down if a parent can quote the laws and state that what they are doing is illegal. I had several friends from the same school system as this lady tell me they'd love to join us, but they are too fearful of a negative impact on their child's IEP issues to make their voices heard. I certainly don't blame any of them, but it is so sad we have to work in this manner to get change. Debi > I will still continue to raise awareness any way I can. Guest guest
Yes I agree this should remain non-political BUT I have to tell you this morning I woke up in Germany and turned on my TV to BBC which we get over here. And it made me sick to my stomach. BBC showed UK policemen training in gas masks for a possible full-scale terrorist attack BBC showed terrorists to the USA being finger-printed and photographed on arrival to the States ( Canadians excluded-very strange) BBC showed Spain is on full alert as the Spanish police have found a bomb which DIDN't go off on the high speed TGV to Seville Everything was about TERRORISM. Why the hell don't they do like us. Try and find the cause of this and DEAL WITH IT instead of driving everybody crazy and treating only the symptoms. Having been on these lists for over three years and observing the medical industry I just have a queezy feeling and deja-vu about this terrorism stuff. It'scontrol, control, control. But if you even dare mention it, you are a NUT! I don't have time to discuss politics. Just wanted to vent....... in Germany JANERe: [ ] Too much politics > > > Thank you , I definitely found myself in a discussion I felt > very uncomfortable about. Guest guest
I meant BBC showed normal tourists (not terrorosts)being finger-printed and photographed on arrival in the US for a holiday!!! I have never been finger-printed in my life. I can just imagine how the Brits feel going in. They don't even have idenrity cards. BUT WAIT, Blair is trying to introduce ID cards. They have in the UK cameras watching YOU everywhere so this is not a big step to ID cards. Blair was even trying to introduce staellite tracking of cars a couple of months ago with the lame excuse of reducing cars on the road. It's REALLY really spookey. What the HELL is going on in our world? in Germany JANERe: [ ] Too much politics > > > > > > > Thank you , I definitely found myself in a discussion I felt > > very uncomfortable about.
