Guest guest
> This is so sad. To have diabetes at such a young age. I have found a website that tells of another young lady with diabetes. It is a very good and useful story. You can see it here http://www.elviradarknight.com/diabetes/index.html Joe > Last night I found out that the 5 yr. old daughter of a good friend was diagnosed with diabetes on Wednesday. Her dad is a Type 1 for apx. 20 years now & of course feels just terrible. She was taken to the emergency room Sunday after feeling ill. They tested her blood sugar at home & the meter read high so they knew it was well over 500 at least. Lora said they had noticed the signs but were in somewhat of a denial & were planning to keep an eye on her but it sure didn't take long. Her reading at the ER was over 1600!! They said she was very lucky to even be there. > > I feel just terrible for her. She's just a doll and I can't imagine being so young and facing this. Lora said she's doing great though & taking everything like a champ. To her advantage, she has two very educated parents when it comes to diabetes and since birth, she's watched her dad take multiple daily injections. I'm really earging them to look into the pump for Arianna, I hope her dad will let go of his set ways of diabetes management and give her the opportinity for a near normal life living with this disease by using the pump. > > Please keep this little child in your thoughts & prayers.
