Phyllis... man I hope some day I am as full of wisdom as you are! Thank you

for that in depth explanation. I am sure I will learn a lot of this in

school (getting started this month!), I have been reading and you are right

in line with what I have read!

The safest best is no vaccinations period. If you are in a

state that allows for an exemption, use it. Otherwise, move

to a state that does. The risk is far too great to take

with your six month old. If your pediatrician disagrees,

find a different pediatrician.

If you are totally sure you want to vaccinate your child the recommendations are

1. Never vaccinate a sick child

2. Wait at least 2 months between vaccinations

3. Do no combo vaccines (ex. Measles vaccine alone)

4. There is a homeopathic pre-vaccination kit that is suppose to prepare your

child's immune system for vaccinations. Here is the website

http://www.celletech.com/

5. If possible, wait until the child is at least 5 years old (stronger immune

system)

6. Make sure Thimerosal free (other additives are used to replace

thirmerosal...like aluminum that is also a neuro toxin)

I personally do not endorse vaccinations. I have a vaccine free daughter who is

14 months. Every time I take her to the doctor, her pediatrician tells me that

she is developmentally beyond her age group. Talked by 4 months, walked by 9

months and so on. She does have milk allergies like my son (4 yrs old ASD) but

that is no big deal.

I wish I knew then what I know now and never vaccinated my son. Likewise, the

medical community makes you feel like your a bad parent or crazy if you don't

vaccinate.

I do not mean to preach. And I apologize if I have offended you. I just don't

want you to have regrets later. Your second child may have no issues at all

with being vaccinated but there is a greater chance now that you have a history

of autism. I recently became involved with a family that has 4 autistic

children (all vaccinated) and it is just sad.

Let me get off my soap box.

Well stated - I do mean to preach:

My son was vaccinated receiving the highest dosage of

thimerosal possible. He has a heavy metals excretion

disorder and received a dx of autism at 18 months.

Subsequently, my twin nieces received their vaccinations

after their mother received a Rho-gam shot at 28 weeks

gestation. The rho-gam had thimerosal and the thimerosal

content of the vax were indeterminate as the manufacturers

stopped releasing the information on these lots. The twins

received autism dx at 30 months (both twins that is)...

Bottom line - don't vaccinate if you know you are dealing

with ANY developmental malady.

And DONT take a flu vaccine if you are pregnant! Or any vaccine if

you are pregnant!

, if you are determined to vaccinate her, then email me off list

and I will send you a write-up that I did for my nephew/wife who will

be vaxing their child in some alternate schedule and the writeup

contains some reasonable tips to make a safer schedule, however, you

do need to think about the fact that even if you space out the

vaccines, your child can still have bad effects from them. Everyone

is unique and given that she has an ASD brother, it's entirely

possible that her " effects " from her shots will be more along the

lines of sensory integration dysfunction and adhd types of things.

That's how things were in our family. The boy was much more

affected, and the girl is much much more mild, but still has gut

issues, lack of pancreatic enzymes, muscle tone issues, hyperactive

issues, etc. The sensory issues I was able to get rid of with epsom

salt baths and some mineral and amino's supplementation and some low-

dose dmsa chelation, but she still has issues with muscle tone,

digestion, constipation, sleep. So, it's something to think about.

Also, isn't it written in medical text that the liver doesn't really

produce much bile until around six months of age, nor is the blood

brain barrier fully " intact " at that age? Personally, I would not

start vaxing at 6 months-- I'd probably wait a bit longer and then I

would space them out with 6 months to a year between any shots, and I

certainly wouldn't do all of the shots recommended and I'd run titers

to see if boosters were even needed. I'd stay away from all live

virus vaxes (mmr and varicella), would not give any tylenol before or

after... well, you get the picture. I'm just saying that even by

adopting a modified vax schedule, if you have a susceptible child,

they are still susceptible no matter how few shots you do or how far

apart they are spaced. They can still have some effects from the

vaccines. It's something you should think about-- I would not make

your decision " in a few weeks " . I would get the checkup done, and

tell them that you will come in for a shot at a later date and

continue to do your research. You should also be aware that on the

cdc's own website for vaccine contraindications and list of

ingredients, they do list out which vaccines still have the full

amount (25 mcg's) of mercury and which ones have been processed

through to have 3 mcg's or less of mercury in them, etc. etc. So you

should really have all that information set so that you can find out

what is in the vaccines you are choosing to give, if you still choose

to give them. It's also helpful to read through the

contraindications chart to see if you see your family in that chart.

If I look at their descriptions about allergies, seizures, etc. then

I would have thought twice about vaxing my daughter. Just because

the CHILD doesn't have those problems (yet), if the family has a hx

of them, then I would say--exercise a very cautious approach to

vaccinating.

If the titer is positive, it means you were exposed to the virus at some

point in time and your body produced antibodies. You may or may not

have had symptoms. Many people have rubella and never realize it. I'm

one of those. My titer was positive, but I don't ever recall having the

disease. The symptoms were probably so mild, I never realized I was sick.

remind me how that works?so they are checking my titers for what? i

told the nurse i had mumps as a kid and i had the vax they offered

back in the 60s for kids for all that. i dont understand how it works,

she said it was good i had chicken pox so dont need to check for that,

but she said mumps is dif and just cus i had that not enough evidence

cus there are dif kinds. but then they must want me to have antibodies

and if i dont thats not good or if they are too high thats the

problem? what will it be that would require a vax?
