Guest guest
Well. The pouch SHOULD stretch, some. Preferably not much at all til you reach goal wt. The stoma should NOT stretch. And " we " do not stretch it. Has to do with how the pouch was made & which hunk of intestine was used to make the stoma. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Out of curiosity, what is the more likely to stretch first...... The pouch or stoma???? And while I'm in the mood for asking questions.. Guest guest
From what I remember Dr. Oh telling me, proximals have a higher incidence of stoma stretching than distals because the top part of the intestine is more stretchable or something and the bottom part is stronger and won't stretch as much. Something like that. You should remember better than me though, before surgery I was a nervous wreck and after I was stoned on drugs. I really wish he could have fixed my stoma though, I rarely ever feel full (only if I eat a LOT of really dense food like steak) so I have to rely on myself to know when to stop eating. Not so easy sometimes, but that's life, right? Terry Vitalady wrote: > Well. The pouch SHOULD stretch, some. Preferably not much at all til > you reach goal wt. > > The stoma should NOT stretch.
