Guest guest
Lou So glad to read your post. I know the right hospice is so comforting. I would be so much more frightened of the future than I am were it not for knowing hospice is there. There comes that point that you don't care what you have or how sick the labs say you are or anything else except how you feel and please no pain. As I sit here thinking of you, just knowing the morphine is taped and knowing you have someone to call and someone who cares. There are exceptions like anything but the vast majority of hospice workers are such dedicated, loving, caring people. That's what has led them to that area of practice. It's nice knowing they are there for you and your family. > > > Even though I am on Hospice it is the best thing i have ever done for > my family and myself. Itis nothing to be ashamed of. Guest guest
Bruce... I sure backup what you write here about hospice. I worked with hospice many years ago and my opinion is firmly rooted in the quality of care given to any and all. I will not hesitate to call in hospice when necessary. I think some think that it's hospice/death. Not always...look at Vicky...and if we are close to transition what a comfort and compassionate way to transition. I do think of L. however, who we know already transitioned to heaven but she said she had such a hard time with hospice. I won't forget her last few months and I'm glad her experience is not typical. Maybe it was meds...I'd like to think that when she returned to hospice after leaving for awhile, her final days were indeed better. MamaSher, age 70. IPF 3-06, OR.
