Guest guest
Woo! I love things like this! Even if you haven't lost the weight yet, put down the benefits of eating right and changing your lifestyle. For me: **I can wear shorts all summer and not feel even remotely self concious **I can climb into a theater seat and sit with my feet next me, legs curled beside me, and be comfortable. **I have an incredible amount of energy and the stamina of a bull **People treat me, sad to say, with more respect. I didn't think this would be as apparent as it is, but it is very apparent that there is a fat prejudice that runs rampant in our country. **I can look good in almost any outfit **I can wear high heeled boots all day without suffering **My life has become so much more well-rounded since adding exercise to it **I can serve as a healthy role model to my students (as opposed to a roll model...hee hee)
Guest guest
Tory - Great list! I'm sad to say that I too have noticed the " more respect " shown by people. Not to mention that askance look when people were startled by my size, but tried to quickly cover their reaction and be " nice. " I will also admit that I LIKE not getting " that look " anymore. A true benefit though is that I am VERY careful about how I look at and treat overweight people now, myself. My first thought is now, " Oh, how I wish I could WW-evangelize this person " !! But of course I keep my mouth shut, unless asked. Bette
Guest guest
Yup, that's how I feel too, Bette. There are a few people who were truly nasty to me when I was overweight and who are not now. When that first started and I actually realized, " Wow, she's being nice to me where she used to be such a witch...and it's because I'm thin now " I just wanted to say, " Sweetie, you should have treated me with more respect when I was fat. I was a MUCH nicer person then. As for now, go away. I'm not interested in you, your compliments, or your praise. " > RE: Benefits of Losing Weight > > > Tory - Great list!
