I talked to the doc a few minutes ago and am going to try some new things to help him through the weekend. I'm going to talk to her next week at his appt about doing a test. I understand completely about the reflux in adults. They thought about a month ago that I had reflux. Unfortunatly, the pain persisted after I was put on prevacid and when they ran more test they found out that I have 2 galstones. So, looks like I'll be having my galbladder taken out. The tricky part of it is that I have a blood clot in my leg, an extremely large one, and I am on blood thinners so it will make the surgery more dangerous. I don't have the pressure that I used to have, but sometimes things just don't feel right. I'm just afraid of the tests and the inconvenience. And I can't take anymore time off of school for now. Would you believe that they deducted $160 from my paycheck for the two extra days I took off when I was in the hospital??? That is unheard of. Needless to say, I tried to fight it, but I lost. From the blood work they suspected stones and the ultrasound showed 2 stones. However, each attack I have had has been painful. Some just painful and the others have been horriable pain. Guest guest Posted January 24, 2003 Report Share Posted January 24, 2003 That's what I heard - the horrible pain. I just keep clearing my throat a lot. It's still probably some reflux. Nexium is supposed to take up to 8 weeks to really have a full effect, but the difference since I started taking it is remarkable. I see the doctor again on Monday. I'll see what he says.
